The interview process started with a take-home assignment that included questions about the product, some of which were designed to gauge my thinking process rather than having a single correct answer. Then, there was a chat via Google Hangouts to test my ability to follow directions and my basic product knowledge. This was followed by an on-site interview where I had to present an iOS or Android app I built, which was a simple app that changes the background color when a button is clicked. They connected this app to their product and asked basic questions about its functionality. The hiring manager seemed like a micromanager, despite claiming a hands-off approach, and tended to interrupt. The recruiter was also unprofessional. After the phone screen, take-home challenge, Google Hangout, and on-site interview, I never heard back from the company. The office environment felt more suited to an older demographic.

The interview process here was super smooth and really focused on making sure the candidate had a great experience. I had two interview rounds: a recruiter call and then an onsite interview. I was really impressed by how kind and courteous everyone was, and I never felt nervous. It felt like home right away! They asked me a good number of technical questions, but also got to know me as a person, asking about my goals and aspirations. Culture is a big deal at Leanplum, and their values really came through in the interviews. They also moved really fast; I spoke to a recruiter and got an offer within a week. Super impressive!

It was a pretty intense but fast interview process. I had two phone screens at first, then an in-person interview where I met a bunch of the team, followed by a work assignment. The last step was a video call for a cultural fit interview. Everyone I met was super nice and made me feel comfortable right away. The recruiters were really good at keeping in touch and got back to me fast when I had questions.

The hiring process was quick and smooth. I applied online and a recruiter contacted me within a few days. I spoke with the recruiter, then a team member, and then went on-site for interviews with the hiring manager and some team members. I received an offer within a week of the final on-site interview. The team was friendly, approachable, and excited to talk about why they enjoy working at Leanplum. I felt supported and kept informed throughout the entire process.
