I applied online and then got a call to schedule an in-person interview. I went in to meet the director. The director was very kind and asked me questions about my experience and the industry. The conversation flowed well with the questions, and I felt comfortable talking with the director. They didn't mention anything about benefits or insurance packages though.

It was pretty straightforward, with situational questions. They wanted to understand how I'd handle various scenarios with the kids and asked about specific age ranges I'd want to work with. They also wanted to know my ideas for engaging children in activities and learning.

I interviewed with the assistant director, as the director wasn't there. She asked me hypothetical questions about what I would do in a teaching scenario. She also asked personal questions, though it seemed mostly scripted as she was reading from paper. I was given a tour of the building and learned about the different age groups, their locations, and the teaching styles used for each. The interview was quite short, around 30 minutes.

Confirmed questions1 question

The interview itself was about 45 minutes long. We talked through my resume. She asked me about my past childcare roles to see if I'd be a good fit. They explained their way of doing things and the work culture, and then they gave me an offer. Even after the offer, there's a lot of paperwork and a few things to get done. Expect to be fingerprinted, and if you've lived in other states, you might need to get some paperwork notarized. In my state, there were 13 hours of online modules to finish before starting, and I had to get a TB screening.
