They first had to cancel on me cuz the interviewer was sick, which is totally fine. But on the day of, she showed up on time and gave me good info about the job and what to expect. She asked some good questions and got back to me fast.

The interview process was smooth, composed by two interviews (one with a team coordinator and an associate recruiting, and the other with the team lead and another team coordinator). The interviewers were actively listening and seemed interested in my journey, making me feel extremely comfortable during the entire process!

The interview process was really long and drawn out. There were three interviews, a lot of emails, and I didn't get much specific information from the hiring manager, who was the Site lead and gene editing lead. The people in Germany were friendlier than the Manager in the St. Louis office. Strangely, the hiring manager didn't ask me any technical questions, but I later found out that's why I was disqualified. The hiring manager couldn't tell me the goal of the position or specifics about what I would do. It was shocking that the company couldn't tell me some company goals for the coming year.

The interview process felt very rushed, like a strict 30-minute time limit was in place, preventing deeper discussions. It was like a robotic question-and-answer session, making me wonder about the purpose of HR. The second interview was with the manager, who conducted it via video while traveling (in a car). They seemed nice, but again, the interview was less than an hour because they were likely in a hurry. It's a shame. I've done hundreds of interviews, but this was one of the most dehumanizing. Communication was solely through email, often sent at late hours. It really doesn't make me want to work for this group, and I'm glad I'm not continuing with this type of employer. It gives the company a bad image!
