The interview was really conversational, which was nice. It wasn't like a typical interview with generic questions about strengths or weaknesses. We mostly just talked about my past experience. Honestly, it was one of the better interviews I've gone through.

It was a really good and straightforward interview experience! I felt at ease throughout. The focus was mainly on behavioral questions, with no technical elements. They inquired about my skills, past experience, and educational background. Additionally, I was asked to discuss previous projects and my engineering work.

I interviewed with Kleinfelder in December 2022 over zoom with a panel. I felt it went well because I was really interested in the company. The recruiter contacted me in January 2023 saying they were still figuring things out in the new year with the market and I never heard back. I got an email on Christmas Day 2023 (a year later) saying I wasn't being considered anymore. I guess it was a good thing because they picked a holiday to send a rejection.

After applying online, I got a call from one of the head guys. We talked about my current job, what I'm looking for at Klienfelder, and why. He asked about my salary expectations and said he could meet them. When I went in for the interview, it was a bit awkward. They explained the company, but there's not much opportunity for advancement given the low pay. Ultimately, they offered me $4 less than what I discussed on the phone, which felt like a waste of everyone's time.
