Factory Worker
I got this job through Kelly Services. When a position opened up, I went through an interview process. It was 3 interviews on the same day with 6 supervisors, and they all asked the same questions. One supervisor got a bit too personal, which I thought was strange because I figured they should only care about my work ethic and abilities.
- Can you tell me about your previous work history?
Ceramic Engineer
Applied at the end of 2024, got a reply in Oct 2024. The first interview was with the hiring manager in Jan 2025, followed by an HR interview a week later. Unfortunately, no further progress was made, which felt unprofessional. I requested feedback, waited another 3 weeks, followed up again, and finally received a rejection. The job ad was then reposted.
- Can you explain your motivation for applying to this position and highlight your related skills?
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this role based on your skills?
Design Engineer
The interview process included an Aptitude Round with reasoning questions, followed by a Technical Round where they asked about resume projects and internship experiences, as well as questions related to metal cutting operations and tooling material manufacturing processes. Finally, there was an HR round to get to know me better.
- Questions about manufacturing processes and metal cutting operations.
- Tell me about yourself.
Financial Analyst
I applied online and was contacted by a third-party recruiter working for Kennametal. We had a phone screen, then I interviewed with the hiring manager, followed by another team member. The last interview was with the team, which was pretty good, but I didn't know who I'd be talking to beforehand. The HR person's behavior during that last interview was really off-putting – they had their camera off most of the time, turning it on and off randomly, and were eating on camera at the end. They also asked some really random questions that had nothing to do with the job or company. I emailed the recruiter about it and also sent a thank-you email to the interviewers to show I was still interested. I was surprised by the lack of response, especially since communication was so quick before the final interview. I'm pretty shocked by how it all turned out and wouldn't apply again.
- Can you explain how you connect with Kennametal's values and mission?
