Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kennametal.
Design Engineer
The interview process included an Aptitude Round with reasoning questions, followed by a Technical Round where they asked about resume projects and internship experiences, as well as questions related to metal cutting operations and tooling material manufacturing processes. Finally, there was an HR round to get to know me better.
- Questions about manufacturing processes and metal cutting operations.
- Tell me about yourself.
Engineer
Great process, start to finish. Informative and personal pre screen and preliminary interview process. On site interview was very professional, each interviewer was as concerned about answering my questions as they were asking questions of me. Left interview feeling very positive about the company and the direction they were heading and that I could be a fit in their organization. Rare that you get the full picture from a 3-4 hour interview process, but they nailed it. Follow up was excellent as well, was contacted within a few days to thank me for visiting and if I had any further questions. The decision making process was as timely.
- What motivates you to seek employment at Kennametal?
Engineer
So I had 4 rounds of phone/panel interviews, and then they asked me to come in for an onsite interview. I flew out for it in the middle of the pandemic. After all that, they ghosted me. No real feedback, just an automated message.
- Can you describe your past experiences?
- Tell me about a time you handled a challenging situation.
