First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Karma Automotive.
Sales and Operations
It took about three months from when I submitted my resume to complete the process. There was about a month delay before I got an email to start the initial screening interview. It then took another month to schedule the virtual screening interview, after a lot of back and forth. After that, it was another month until I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager and the VP.
- Do you have prior experience working in manufacturing settings and utilizing the SAP system?
Engineering Technician
I had a panel interview with 4 engineers where we talked about my technical knowledge, and they asked me some theoretical and math questions. After that, I spoke with the department director, who asked me some more technical questions.
- Can you describe how battery cells are combined in series and in parallel?
- What methods can be used to determine the changes in voltage and current when combining battery cells?
Battery Test Engineer
HR contacted me the day after I applied for a quick phone chat. Then, I had a phone interview with the director, where we mostly talked about my resume and my interest in Karma Automotive. About two weeks later, HR set up another phone interview with the manager, which I thought went well and they seemed keen on hiring me. After another two-week wait and no response to my follow-up email, I got invited to yet another phone interview. The long gaps and lack of communication were a bit unprofessional.
- What makes you interested in Karma?
Engineer
The first step was a phone call, which felt like a casual chat and was basically a screening before they invited me in person. Apparently, the engineering head already looked at my resume and thought I was a good fit, so this call was more about seeing if I was interested and a good fit for the team. At the end of that call, HR said they'd be in touch to set up a time for me to come to the office and talk with the Senior Engineer.
- What do you know about our company?
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What makes you want to work in the automotive industry?
