First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Karma Automotive.
Battery Test Engineer
HR contacted me the day after I applied for a quick phone chat. Then, I had a phone interview with the director, where we mostly talked about my resume and my interest in Karma Automotive. About two weeks later, HR set up another phone interview with the manager, which I thought went well and they seemed keen on hiring me. After another two-week wait and no response to my follow-up email, I got invited to yet another phone interview. The long gaps and lack of communication were a bit unprofessional.
- What makes you interested in Karma?
Software/Systems Test Engineer
The interview process was good, the people I spoke with were nice and had a positive view of the company. Since the company is in between locations and some staff were remote, I had to call in to speak with a few people. The interviewers asked me about my experience and explained the role and how I'd contribute to several teams as well as my core team. This was expected since it's a startup.
- How would you approach resolving an existing software issue?
- Can you share an instance where you faced a personal crisis or shortcoming and how you managed to overcome it, regardless of external factors?
HIL Engineer
I had an initial phone call with HR to set up the interview with the manager and director over the phone. The phone interview was technical and they wanted to know about my experience and find out whether I could do the job. After they were impressed, they called for an onsite interview. Had basic engineering questions and some simulink and circuit questions.
- Can you tell me about your experience with HIL dSPACE systems?
