The overall experience was positive. The process included one interview with HR and two with the hiring manager. The HR interview was standard, while the first interview with the hiring manager covered general knowledge of Ubuntu and C++. The second interview with the hiring manager was a bit more technical and included some general C++ questions. The third interview was conducted in person.

We kicked things off with some emails. They hit me with a few technical questions, asking about my prior experience with certain tools and to detail my background. They also wanted to know about my salary expectations and if I'd need them to sponsor a work visa since it's an international role. Since it's an international position, they also inquired about my English proficiency.

The interview was very friendly and goal-oriented, basically like a normal conversation. First, my current supervisor explained what the company does, the tasks in the department, and what specifically would be expected of me. Afterward, I talked with a technician/developer about the job and technical matters. Ultimately, I received positive feedback from both.

I applied, and after a couple of weeks, a recruiter reached out to set up an interview. They asked about my resume and if I had experience with different software and Linux. The recruiter seemed a bit rude. Then, I had an in-person interview that was just a review of my resume and some behavioral questions. No technical stuff. After that, I got a tour of the building, which had really old and outdated computers and equipment. The whole place felt depressing. The manager mentioned getting back to me about a second interview or if he 'found someone better.' I never heard back, which was very unprofessional.
