Systems Validation Engineer
I applied online and got a call from the recruiter in Austin. They asked about my experience and availability. The recruiter then sent a questionnaire. A few days later, I got an email for a 1.5-hour technical interview. I got positive feedback after the first interview and they scheduled another interview with the Director.
- Could you do an exercise on user requirements and test cases?
Test Engineer
Started with a phone call with the hiring manager. They asked textbook-style engineering questions, wanting precise definitions. The manager was quite rude, seemed distracted by background noise, and acted uninterested, even suggesting I hang up and quit. This initial call involved technical questioning and also assessed behavioral aspects.
- Can you define non-functional testing?
Systems Test Engineer
First approach was via mobile phone. Nothing technical. After that we arranged a video interview and he asked me to present him a technical project from my university. It was casual and easy.
