Behavioral Case

The interview process started with a phone call from a recruiter. After that, there was a panel interview with two team members, followed by a take-home test. Be aware that the company seems to be using their take-home case study to improve their internal processes and isn't serious about hiring. It's important to ask if you're seriously being considered before starting an assignment. I spent my entire weekend on their case study, only to receive a generic email stating my application would not proceed. Candidates who invest time in free work deserve feedback. Apply with caution here and keep your options open.

The HR recruiter didn't contact me for the initial phone screen, which is weird. I emailed them a few times and didn't get a response for over a day. I had to leave work early for that call, so it was super frustrating. After the screening, I had another phone interview with the head of the team. It took two weeks to hear back, way longer than the head of the team said I would hear back. The questions were really basic, and the head of the team seemed totally checked out during our chat. Not sure if HR is short-staffed or just messy. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially since I feel like I didn't mess up.

Behavioral Technical Case

Applied on the company career site after reading about the company on a diversity job board. Went through an initial screener with the Recruiter (30 Minutes). Then interviewed with 2 Senior Account Managers (1 Hour). After that, I had a Written Assignment (about 5 questions). Finally, an Interview w/Hiring Manager (1 Hour). They were not very responsive through the process. In fact, I had to ping the recruiter to get status updates. I thought the hiring manager interview went well and she confirmed as much when I asked ‘do you have any reservations about my fit for the position that I could address?’ She responded that I would be a good fit for the job. After prompting the recruiter yet again (after I was promised a decision in a few days), I received a form rejection email with no explanation or feedback.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The hiring manager was cool with my timeline since I wasn't ready to leave my job yet. The process had two phone screens (one with a team member and one with HR), an activity, an on-site where I met the team I'd be working with, and then an hour with the founders. It's pretty rare for a company to include so many people - from the newest person on the team to the CEO and President - but I think this process shows how Jopwell is intentionally building its community and culture. Overall, it was a good candidate experience.
