First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JOEY Restaurants.
Restaurant Administrator
Got an email from a recruiter for a quick zoom call. She confirmed the role, gave some facts, and asked if I'd dined there before. I said no, but I'd heard good things. I asked about the grand opening date, and after she answered, she asked if I had more questions. I said not at the moment, thinking she'd ask about my experience, but she just said to email her if I had any other questions and ended the call. It was very short, maybe 3 minutes, and I was confused because she didn't ask me any questions about the role or my background. The call lacked clear expectations about its purpose and felt unprofessional.

Guest Services
There are two interviews. First, you'll meet with a team member who has a salary management title. If they really like you, they'll bring in the general manager, and you'll most likely get hired that same day. If they need to reschedule, it means the general manager is busy or occupied, and they'll do a second interview to decide on hiring.
- Could you share your customer service experience?
- Have you ever applied to a Joey location previously?
Prep/Line Cook
It's a 3-step process, starting with a pre-recorded interview. If you pass that, you move on to an interview with the recruiter and then a final one with the head chef. I got there 15 minutes early like you should, but the interviewer was 20 minutes late and didn't say anything. I asked the hostess after a bit and she was rude. I waited like 30+ minutes total before it started. No apology, no reason, just seemed rushed and like they didn't care.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What would you say are your greatest strengths and weakest points?
- What makes you want to work for Joey's?
Host
It was a super easy process and super fast. They first emailed you asking you to complete an online interview where you film yourself answering questions they sent you in the email. Then you just wait to see if you move on to the next step for an in person interview. They say they will give you 24hours to 48hours to let you know if you got the job.
- Tell us about yourself and why you want to work at JOEY Restaurants.
- Can you share an example of a commitment you made that you didn't keep and how you handled it?
- What's something you're not skilled at in a work setting? How did you identify this, and what have you done to improve?
