Technical Coding

The interview began well with an intro to the company and role, presented as Staff Engineer. However, the first round veered into app architecture and security details not core to my Android development background, feeling more appropriate for security or platform architect roles. My experience is with single FCM accounts and certs, so the questions felt off. They weren't explained well, giving a sense of just trying to filter candidates rather than a technical chat. I get probing for a Staff role, but the resume/expectation gap could've been handled better. Some Glassdoor reviews seem accurate, questioning if the question level matches the salary.

Behavioral Presentation

I had a pretty disappointing experience with Ivanti's hiring process. I made it through all the stages, including a final presentation to six people (a VP, the Hiring Manager, and some CSMs). But then, days later, they told me I wouldn't get the job because of salary expectations. This really surprised me because the exact salary was clearly stated and I had agreed to it before starting. We never discussed a range. It felt really unprofessional to waste so much of my time and not address this earlier, especially before the final presentation. They said the budget had changed, but hearing that only after everything was done seemed like an easy excuse. It made me question how transparent they are and if their team is on the same page.

Technical Coding System Design

The interview process has 5 rounds. It starts with a techno managerial round, then a technical screening, followed by two coding rounds, and finishes with a system design round. It felt like a waste of time, as if the company interviews just for the sake of it, maybe because they have a lot of free time from working on maintenance projects. They seem to have a set list of questions clearly aimed at rejection. Around 90% of candidates get rejected in the first round, and the remaining 10% are rejected in later rounds. Even with positive feedback, the outcome is usually rejection. I suggest you don't waste your time here and focus on other opportunities. I really feel I wasted 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design

There were 6 rounds in total. The first was a managerial round asking about my past projects and the technologies I've used. It was an easy interview if you met the JD requirements. The second round was a coding round with Leet code easy/medium questions on basic data structures like arrays, stacks, and queues. The interviewer was helpful in optimizing the solution. The third round was also a coding round, but with Leet code medium/hard questions on advanced data structures and algorithms. You had to finish the code in the given time or you'd be eliminated. The fourth round was a design/implementation round about application design and concepts. I got eliminated here. The fifth round was a Behavioral round, and then the HR round.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Questions from my past projects and resume, plus some basic technical/logical questions.
  • Technological concepts and a Leet code easy/medium problem.
  • Leet code medium/Hard problems.
