Technical Support Engineer
I applied online back on February 11th, 2017. It wasn't until March 31st that they got back to me to set up a phone interview. We spoke on April 5th for about 30 minutes. I got rejected on 4/10/2017.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Technical Support Engineer
First, I got a call from the recruitment team, they talked about what they are looking for and asked about my background. Then, I had a Zoom meeting with the support manager. We chatted about what I know and the tech I've used. It was a really nice conversation. He also asked me about tough situations I faced in my old job. This part was mostly about how I communicate and behave (90%), with just a little bit of tech (10%). After that, there was a panel interview with a manager, a lead, and an engineer. They asked some good questions about PCs, networking, and SQL. They also asked about challenges at my previous job and how I handled them. The final round was with the region head, and it was all technical. You should definitely prepare thoroughly for this last one.
- How do you approach resolving a network issue on a remote PC?
- Explain your process for troubleshooting a 'network path not found' error.
- Can you interpret the given SQL query?
Technical Support Engineer
Got messaged on LinkedIn by a recruiter, then had a 20 min call with her to go over the role and company. Next, had an hour-long interview with a director, manager, and supervisor where they dug into my experience and technical skills. After that, they gave me a task using a software to see my troubleshooting skills and I had to install and fix it. The next interview was with the same people plus HR, and I had to give a presentation on my findings. This was at the end of the day on a Friday. Woke up Tuesday to an email about next steps, and had an offer by Wednesday morning.
- Can you describe your SQL knowledge?
- Further questions regarding your SQL expertise.
