First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ivanti.
Staff Software Engineer
The interview began well with an intro to the company and role, presented as Staff Engineer. However, the first round veered into app architecture and security details not core to my Android development background, feeling more appropriate for security or platform architect roles. My experience is with single FCM accounts and certs, so the questions felt off. They weren't explained well, giving a sense of just trying to filter candidates rather than a technical chat. I get probing for a Staff role, but the resume/expectation gap could've been handled better. Some Glassdoor reviews seem accurate, questioning if the question level matches the salary.
- Could you discuss the versions and limitations of JUnit and Mockito?
- How would you manage multiple Firebase Cloud Messaging accounts within a single application?
- Where is the Android Keystore typically located?
Staff Software Engineer
The Ivanti interview process is a bit different. They start with a culture round that includes a technical evaluation with a manager. Then, there are two LeetCode rounds, which are unrelated to the actual job profile. If you're good at LeetCode, you'll be fine, but I failed one because I don't practice LeetCode. After that, there's a system design round, which I didn't reach. I think they're trying to interview like a big organization but without offering the corresponding salary. The interview should be more aligned with the job rather than just LeetCode.
- Describe an efficient ring buffer circular queue.
Staff Software Engineer
There were 5 rounds in total. It started with a recruiter call, followed by three technical interviews and a final manager interview. The HR was very approachable and the interviewers were professional. Technical rounds were of average difficulty and included a design round.
- Common two pointer questions on arrays
- System design question about designing Dropbox
