Director of Product Marketing
This role was pretty high-profile, so I ended up in 8 different interviews. I met with the hiring manager, people who would report to me, other leaders at my level, and even the CMO. It felt like a really thorough process, which was good because it helped both me and the company figure out if it was a good fit. We talked about my marketing background, business sense, technical skills, and leadership approach. It was definitely a tough process that took about 4 weeks, and sometimes they grouped interviews together. I was bummed not to get an offer, but even more bummed that I didn't get any feedback. After putting in all that effort, it would have been nice to know what I was missing.
- Can you describe your leadership style?
Analyst
First you submit your application online with your resume and maybe a cover letter. Then, HR or recruiters will screen your resume to see if you fit the job. After that, there might be a quick chat (phone/video) with HR to talk about your background and why you're interested. Next, you could get a technical test to solve some problems or show your skills. The first real interview is usually with a hiring manager or team lead, where they'll ask about your technical skills, experience, and how you solve problems. This is also your chance to ask them questions. The second interview might be in person or video, and you'll meet other team members or technical folks. You'll go deeper into your technical knowledge, and they might give you a case study to work through.
- Can you explain the data protocols used in VOIP systems?
BI Engineer
I applied on LinkedIn in April and they responded after two weeks. We scheduled the technical interview (another week later). Then another week I waited for an interview with a director. Then it took them a week to get all the responses. At the beginning of May, I had a call with HR. She asked me about my salary expectations and promised to return later. It has been a month since our last call so I conclude this as ghosting. No feedback was provided, no rejection, nothing. Final thoughts: SKIP THIS COMPANY. Worst experience ever. The HR literally told me once that they have a pretty long hiring process, which makes me think they know about their problems but do nothing about it. Thus, if you want to waste months of your time - you are welcome to Intermedia's hiring process.
- Tell me about basic data engineering concepts.
- Can you answer some simple questions on databases?
- Do you have knowledge on ETL?
Marketing Manager
I had two initial calls, then I was invited to interview at the Irvine office for a Marketing Manager position in the fall of 2019 with AnyMeeting (owned by Intermedia). It was a very small team managing AnyMeeting at this time. It was a panel interview with 2 individuals. They asked about my previous experience and my interest in the role, which was pretty standard. But then later on in the interview, they asked me math questions without letting me use a pen, paper, or calculator. I think they wanted someone who could do equations without tools, but I found it pretty irrelevant since the role was for social media management and PR. Plus, nowadays everyone uses tools for math equations. I'm not sure why they were quizzing me. At the end of the interview, I had to pay $11 for parking which wasn't reimbursed! It's the only company I've interviewed with that didn't reimburse for parking. It left a bad impression. I wasn't interested in the opportunity. They never got back to me. Not a professional team, wouldn't recommend.
