First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Initiative.
Communications Manager
The interview was very straightforward. It started with a screening call with HR, followed by three initial team member interviews. These included interviews with team leads and other comms managers, and all took place over Zoom.
- What is it about Initiative that interests you?
Coordinator
The first round interview was very short, they didn't even ask if I had questions. I didn't hear about a second round for weeks. When a recruiter finally reached out, I joined the Zoom call and waited for about an hour since they said it would be a long interview. No one showed up. I emailed the recruiter and found out they had moved on to someone else. The whole experience was terrible.
- Can you share your experience with us?
Investment Associate
So first, there was this phone call, right? I hadn't even applied, but my resume got to the recruiter, and they explained the role. Then I got the job description. After that, I had a Zoom interview where they told me more about the role and asked if I was okay with it being admin-like. They also talked about career progression in the media industry. The last round was in-person, with the hiring managers, not the recruiter.
- Can you handle a lot of administrative and routine tasks?
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
- Could you please review your education and relevant experiences from your resume?
Associate, Growth
First, a call with the recruiter to discuss the role, my background, what I'm looking for, and my interest in the team and Initiative. Then, steps 2-4 involved calls with different members of the specific team to go over the role in more detail. They asked some behavioral questions, but mostly focused on my past experience and how it connects to this position.
- What is your motivation for joining Initiative?
- Could you elaborate on your interest in this specific team or vertical?
- How does your previous experience prepare you to excel in this role?
