Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Initiative.
Analyst
The interview process was pretty relaxed and comfortable overall. The office environment was fun and helped me feel at ease. I spoke with two people: first, a team member from the group I'd be joining, and second, the team lead. Both were really friendly and easy to chat with, making the interview feel more like a casual conversation than a formal interrogation.

The HR person was friendly, and the front desk woman was super nice and welcoming. I had interviews with two people. Both HR and the interviewers described the job a bit differently and mentioned different reporting structures. My main issue was with the HR follow-through. About a week after the interview, I got a call saying it went well and they needed to interview a few more people. Then, almost two weeks passed with no update. I emailed HR for a status but got no response. I checked the company website and the job was gone, seemingly withdrawn. It's basic courtesy to let interviewees know the outcome, whether it's a yes or no, instead of leaving them hanging. I found that really unprofessional and disrespectful of my time.
- Can you share an instance where you enhanced a workflow or procedure to benefit yourself and your team?
Analyst
I got the HR screening via employee referral, and the recruiter was super responsive. Then, I went in for an onsite interview with some other candidates. I thought it'd be a group thing, but it was actually a panel interview. It was pretty chill, everyone was nice, and no one asked any tough questions. They mostly asked about my past experiences. Got an email the next day saying they went with someone else based on experience. Overall, the process was really smooth, and I'd consider coming back if other opportunities come up.
- Can you provide details about your current role?
