Research Intern
So first I had to explain my projects, and then they asked me questions about each of them which I had to answer in detail. They also asked me about the projects I'd done and the process behind them.
- What projects have you worked on during your studies?
- Could you discuss the projects you've completed in your academic career?
HTRA
After applying, candidates are shortlisted based on their gate score. Then, a panel of 6 members interviews candidates based on their area of interest. The interview lasts about 45 to 60 minutes, with one panel member usually just observing.
- Can you discuss concepts from Linear Algebra?
- Explain the Two-Phase Locking protocol.
- What are your thoughts on concurrency control?
PhD Student
It was a very nice experience. They guide you through challenging problems if you encounter difficulties. If you understand the concepts, they will surely identify your potential and select you. PhD interviews are designed for selection, not rejection.

Accounts Officer
First, they look at your application and resume. Then, there's a test to see if you have the skills needed for the job. After that, you'll have a face-to-face chat about your experience and if you'd fit in. Sometimes, they might have another interview to get more details. If you do well, you'll have a final interview. They'll also check your references. If they decide to hire you, you'll get a job offer and can negotiate. Before you start, there's a background check, and then you'll be onboarded.
