Intern
The interviewers were super friendly. They asked me a bunch about my past experiences and what I'm into, trying to figure out why I applied to a place like Hypebeast. They also wanted to know about the stuff I've been checking out online.

Brand Partnerships Director
My hiring process experience was really bad. I thought I was in the last round, but then they suddenly said I didn't have enough sales experience, which was weird because they initially said they liked my background. It's a shame they didn't give me this feedback earlier, wasting my time. I spent a lot of time preparing two presentations in a week for them. The first was about a strategy to make 1.5 million in annual revenue for the regions, and the second was a sales pitch for a fake client. Instead of feedback on those, the second hiring manager just went off script and said I lacked sales experience. It was a joke how they handled it, especially after I put in so much work. Avoid this company.
- Can you outline a strategy to achieve 1.5 million in annual revenue for the DACH and Nordics regions?
Social Media Coordinator
I got invited to a first call, then they ghosted me for weeks. The interview was with the chief and a senior staff member. They asked me about brands I like and why, and also about their own social media, like what I would do differently. I'm not sure if I should have been totally honest with my suggestions. After that, the HR person took over 2 weeks to get back to me, saying the role was closed because of a hiring freeze. It was weird because they then changed their social media tone after Threads launched. I wonder if they just wanted ideas for their socials at hbx. They said it was the first hire for socials, but it felt like they already had a social media manager.
- Can you name 5 streetwear brands you like and explain why?
- What do you think of our current Instagram/socials, and what improvements would you suggest?
Creative
This was the worst interview process ever. I went through about 3 of the 4 stages. It started with a video call where they seemed unprepared and discussed interview questions amongst themselves, even commenting on how they felt bad asking certain questions. Next was a large take-home task to be completed over a weekend. After they reviewed the task, I was invited to an in-person interview. Unfortunately, they gave me the wrong office address (an old one) and nobody there knew how to reach them. I had been communicating with HR who had stopped replying to my emails for weeks. The receptionist managed to get hold of someone, who then told me they'd call and to wait in their old office. I waited over an hour, only to receive a call that they needed to reschedule. For the rescheduled interview, I went in to present my idea from the task, but they were very negative about it. It felt pointless to have a final interview based on the task if they didn't like my ideas.
- Since they hadn't prepared anything, they asked very basic, generic interview questions.
