Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hypebeast.
Senior Editor
The interview process was unremarkable. The recruiter for the role wasn't particularly enthusiastic or engaging, failing to generate excitement. Weeks passed without any communication, and then a rejection email arrived.
- Can you tell us about yourself?
- What relevant knowledge do you possess?
Video Editor
I had my first interview a week after we first talked. The Senior Video Editor interviewed me. She seemed interested, even though half her face was cut off on screen. She liked my experience and skills. She told me they would get back to me in 1-2 weeks. I followed up a few times but never heard back. It's been over a month since the interview. It's disappointing how companies waste candidates' time and ghost them.
- How do you keep up with the newest trends in video editing?
Editor
I went through 3 rounds of interviews: first with HR, then the director of the team, and finally my supervisor. The whole thing took over a month after the last interview. I'd suggest other candidates to follow up for a reply.
- Can you tell me about your experience in this field?
