It was a pretty long process with four main stages. First, I had a chat with a recruiter. Then, there was an assessment center which took up a whole day. This included group activities and a short presentation. After that, I interviewed with the APAC head. The final stage was a panel interview with global leaders. During the assessment center, we also did a factory tour and had about 7 rounds of interviews with the leadership team in Shanghai.

The interview went well, and I stayed on the phone with the recruiter for nearly 1.5 hours. They said they would recommend me to the hiring manager. After what I thought was a great conversation, I received an email letting me know they were moving forward with other candidates. Surprised, I emailed the recruiter requesting feedback from the hiring manager. After 3 follow-up emails, I received a response saying he would request feedback. It has been over 2 weeks, and I still have not heard back. There would also be 6 rounds of interviews, which was a concern, but not a deal breaker.

It was just an informal meeting with the manager and CEO with normal interview questions, salary expectations, work and hiring arrangements, no tricks or tests in this first interview, I believe it's more for aligning expectations and analyzing the candidate's profile.

The recruiter doing the initial screening didn't really know much about marketing, which was pretty surprising. It wasn't a great start when the whole hour was spent explaining my resume to someone who didn't even grasp basic marketing terms. The recruiter mentioned the entire process would be about 8 stages, including a take-home task. Honestly, it seems excessive given the current job market, and treating job seekers like this feels both harsh and like a massive waste of their time. I'd suggest hiring recruiters who at least have some fundamental understanding of the roles they're interviewing for.
