First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hive (CA).
Software Engineer
It started with a recruiter phone screen and then went into four technical rounds that were LeetCode style. Two of those rounds were with junior software engineers, one with a senior engineer, and the last one was with the CTO. After that, there was a chat with the CEO. The whole process moved pretty fast, which was very nice, and the recruiter was super responsive.

Client Delivery Analyst
It started with a 30-minute call with the recruiter which included a quick case question. Then I had an Excel take-home assignment. After that, I had a 30-minute Zoom chat with the Chief of Staff which was behavioral. The final part was a 2-hour panel interview with managers from the Client Delivery Team, where they asked a mix of behavioral and technical questions.

Sales Development Representative
The whole thing took about 3 weeks. It started with a LinkedIn message, then a phone call. After that, I had to make a slide deck in 3 days, and then I interviewed with the sales manager. The vibe was pretty casual, which was kinda weird. Also, they seemed to want more experience than an entry-level SDR usually has. The slide deck felt like they just wanted free ideas without giving any feedback, which made me think they might be using candidates for free brainstorming. So yeah, it seemed a bit unprofessional and I was wary.
- What can you tell me about the slide deck you prepared?
- Can you go into more detail about the specifics of your slide deck?
Research Analyst
If your application looks good, you might start with a screening, like a quick call or online test to see if you're a good fit and interested. Then, you could have a first interview, maybe a call or video chat with the hiring manager, where they'll ask about your background and why you want this job. After that, there might be a technical assessment to check your skills, possibly with coding or case studies. Next up, a second interview could be another call, video chat, or in-person meeting with the hiring manager or a group of interviewers, digging deeper into your experience and how you'd handle job-related situations. Sometimes, there's a final interview with senior folks.
- Can you introduce yourself and discuss your internship experience, including the research process and its different types?
- Could you elaborate on your internship work, the research process, and its various types?
- What is the research process, and what are its different types?
