In Portugal, most folks get hired through the L&D program. The interview itself is pretty chill, mostly general questions since it's for young pros. But the whole thing takes a while. You start with a team interview, usually hear back in 1-2 months. Then there's an assessment day like 2-3 months after that, and finally, you chat with the leadership team.

So, to start, they look at your resume. If it looks good, you'll get a call or video chat to see if you're a good fit and if you meet the basic requirements. After that, you might have to do some tests or go in for interviews, which could include questions about how you'd handle certain situations or questions about your past behavior. Lastly, they'll get back to you and make a decision.

Behavioral Group Presentation

The interview process started with an HR interview, followed by a team lead interview. Then there was a group challenge where I collaborated with other candidates applying for similar and different roles. We were given about an hour for the challenge, had a lunch break, and then 15 minutes to present and defend our solution. It was quite challenging to articulate ideas in a group where everyone seemed to be vying for a leadership position. I think they were looking for candidates who were charismatic and persuasive in selling their product.

So I went through 3 tech interviews with senior folks and then one with the hiring manager, and I felt like those all went pretty well. The problem started after the last interview. The recruiter totally ghosted me for like a month. I tried reaching out on three different channels and heard nothing back. Then, after all that silence, I got an email saying the job was closed. Honestly, it felt like they were just using candidates to build a database.
