Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hitachi Solutions.
PMO Consultant
In Portugal, most folks get hired through the L&D program. The interview itself is pretty chill, mostly general questions since it's for young pros. But the whole thing takes a while. You start with a team interview, usually hear back in 1-2 months. Then there's an assessment day like 2-3 months after that, and finally, you chat with the leadership team.
- What can you bring to the table?
- Could you tell me something about yourself?
- Why are you a suitable candidate for this role?
Technical Consultant
The interview was pretty relaxed and took about an hour, covering a mix of soft and hard skills. On the technical side, questions were mainly focused on object-oriented programming.
- What would be your approach to developing an application?
Consultant
After waiting 5 months with miscommunication and a low offer, I decided to leave. HR in Irvine was slow to respond, saying they'd follow up immediately but didn't. I spoke with 7 people from the solutions team, which was enjoyable, but HR felt amateurish. If they don't value your skills, they'll offer less and won't negotiate. I take some blame for not leaving sooner due to the vague job posting. I was looking for culture and a forward-thinking team, but that blinded me. The Dynamics partnership and Hitachi Solutions team are great, with talented people. However, senior management and HR are concerning. Hitachi's 100-year strategic plans suggest their process won't change soon. Good luck!
- The initial call is to find out your salary expectations. If your number is in the range for the role, you proceed.
- Interviews 2-7 were phone calls with solutions team members, mostly asking about my background and experience with Dynamics and implementation.
- There were some questions about SDLC and architecture, but mostly focused on my experience implementing CRM systems.
