Customer Experience Manager
The Highspot interview process was really clear and felt personal, right from the jump. They laid out what they were looking for in the role, how success would be measured, and what to expect in each interview round. The number of interviews was just right, not too many and not repetitive. Everyone I spoke with was prepared and focused on actual job skills, no weird trick questions. It felt more like a real conversation where I could ask about the team, the challenges, and the company culture and get honest answers, not just corporate speak. They communicated well throughout, got back to me quickly, and didn’t make me wait around for decisions, which felt respectful of my time. By the end, I felt confident I could do the job and that I’d actually enjoy working there, and the offer felt like a good, exciting next step.

Customer Success Manager
Went through HR screen, then spoke with the hiring manager, another front line manager, a CSM counterpart, and the Dir of CS. It ended with a case study presented to a panel. It was annoying to spend so much time on the case study only for HR to come back saying "legal doesn't allow us to provide feedback." I feel like I dodged a bullet though, the people I interviewed with seemed pretty unhappy.
- Can you describe a challenging customer interaction and your approach to resolving it?
Implementation Engineer
The interview process had 5 rounds. First, HR screening, then a manager screening. After that, a round focused on people and cultural fit. This was followed by a product-focused round assessing product knowledge and basic technical ability. The final round was about project management, involving scenario-based questions on prioritizing projects/tasks, setting customer expectations for project timelines, and managing parallel projects. I found the process a bit too long and thought it could be condensed into 3 rounds since many parts seemed repetitive.
- Can you provide an example of a project management scenario you've encountered, and how you handled it?
Software Engineer
So, I applied for a Senior Software Engineer role at HighSpot, and honestly, it was a mess. It took them two whole months to even get back to me after I applied, and I had to chase them up. Meanwhile, other people who applied after me got responses right away, which was just weird and annoying. The first call with the recruiter felt super scripted, like a sales pitch, not a real chat, and it didn't match up with what I'd heard from others. The technical interview was kinda all over the place. I did manage to solve all the problems they threw at me, which was good. But the interviewer was late, seemed totally checked out, kept yawning, and then just dipped without answering my questions about the job or the team. It felt really disrespectful. And then, after all that, it took them another two weeks to tell me I didn't get the job, with no explanation, even though I aced the technical part. Seriously, in this industry, you'd think basic stuff like clear communication, respecting people's time, and having a straightforward process wouldn't be too much to ask, especially from a company that seems pretty good. But HighSpot's hiring process really dropped the ball on all of that. I'd tell anyone looking at HighSpot to really do their homework and maybe look elsewhere. My experience, even with solving all the tech problems, was far from professional. Just be careful if you're considering them.
