Store Manager
It was a quick and easy process. If you've got the experience, you'll do fine. You should already know what they're looking for. They really want to see your sales experience and if you can handle cash. Make sure to show your personality.
- Can you tell me about your sales experience and if you've managed scheduling for others?
- What is your experience with sales, and have you been responsible for scheduling staff?
- Tell me about your sales background and if you have experience managing people schedules.
Director of Performance Marketing
I first spoke with an external recruiter who then connected me to the hiring manager internally within about a week. The hiring manager and I had a good conversation. They asked me some standard interview questions and also some specific questions about a key discipline of performance marketing for the role. About a week later, the external recruiter let me know I didn't get the job.
- Can you share your experience with Google paid search?
Merchandise Analyst
I submitted an application online and then got contacted by HR. After that, I had a phone screening, and then another phone screening with the hiring manager. Then there was an in-person interview. The last interview had me meet with three people: a merchandise analyst, the VP of the department, and then the hiring manager again. The interview was okay until they asked me how I deal with women in the workplace, which I found a bit sexist because I'm a guy. They also asked how I would handle situations where women might get agitated with each other. That felt unprofessional too, and I think they put me on the spot because I'm male. A week later, I heard back that I didn't get the job. I'm not sure I would have taken it anyway, given the questions they asked and how disorganized their data collection seems.
- How do you handle interactions with female colleagues?
Sales Associate
I found the job on Indeed and it took a month to hear back. They emailed me to set up an interview at a food court in the mall. The interview involved a rundown of the company and the job. It was a group interview first, and then a one-on-one. The interviewer was very nice and made everyone feel welcome. He asked everyone to introduce themselves, then had us do a fun exercise where we had to sell him a pen. After that, he interviewed us individually, asking basic questions.
- Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
- Could you try to sell me this pen?
- What makes you a good candidate for this position?
