Candidates first send in their resumes and any certs online. HR does a quick check to see if folks meet the basic tech and school needs. Then, candidates do a 30-min chat by phone or video. They talk about their past jobs, tech skills, and what gear they know. They also get asked some questions to see how they solve problems and work with others. After that, candidates get a hands-on task or an online test. This will involve finding problems, checking safety, and doing simple fixes. They might also need to write down how they'd fix things. Next, candidates meet a group of people: a senior tech, a team lead, and someone from HR. They'll talk about real job situations, equipment they've used, and how they handle rush jobs. They'll also check if the candidate fits in and communicates well. Then, it's time for a practical test on-site. Candidates come in and do some real tasks. This includes finding broken parts, doing a normal repair, and following safety rules. The supervisors watch how fast and careful they are. Finally, we check references and past jobs. We also make sure licenses or certs are legit. If all goes well, the candidate gets an offer. Once they accept, they get training on safety, company rules, and how to use the equipment. This whole thing makes sure we get a tech who's good with their hands and fits with the rest of the team.

It’s really inconvenient to have a potential candidate to go for first round interview on site in manukau office, especially when someone don’t have a car. The job description also doesn’t specify the need for web development skills which is frequently asked during the interview. They are more looking for a ux developer than a ux designer.

It was a pretty straightforward interview. They mostly wanted to learn about me and check if I had experience that fit what they were looking for. The manager liked me so much they offered me the job right away. It's a good idea to mention any skills you've picked up and explain how they'd be useful for sales.

it was a very standard interview; there were two managing directors who conduct the interview in the office. Standard procedure, 15 minutes. I kind of screw up because I mentioned I haven’t experienced teamwork and coordination much in work settings, so I think that was the dealbreaker for them. They look for someone who is detail-oriented, team player and communicate effectively
