I went through 4 interviews, and after the 4th, they said they'd call me the next week. I texted to say I was looking forward to connecting that afternoon, but then I got a rejection email. They said it was because I asked to work specifically with MDs and kept asking about remote work. I never mentioned working with MDs, and I only asked about remote work to understand their roles better, and I had already said I was open to on-site for this specific role. After I replied, they changed the reason to needing someone with experience building a desk, which they should have known before I wasted 4 interviews. It felt like a disrespect of my time.

The interview process was lengthy and disorganized. I had to go through eight separate interviews with different people. I was asked to travel to NYC for a 1.5-hour commute, only to find out I had another online interview. I was told I would get a decision that day, either at the office or when I got home. Then, I received a call saying I wasn't a good fit for the departments I interviewed for, but they wanted to interview me again for a different department, which was unexpected. My final interview seemed to go well. However, I got a call from talent saying they liked me but I wasn't moving forward due to concerns about my client engagement abilities, which was surprising given my background. They had already hired a large group before my interview and announced it on social media the day of my interview. I suspect I was kept as a backup, and once they filled their spots, they continued to lead me on and even sent a questionnaire about the interview experience. I felt like I was their plan B. My advice is to avoid working here if possible.

Got a call from the recruiter who told me about the business and what they're building and achieving. It was about 30 mins. Then they asked a few questions and invited me to their London office. I met the Sales Director, who was really chill and personable. He introduced himself, talked about his background and achievements, and why he joined. After 45 mins with him, he said he'd have one of the team managers come see me. I interviewed with him for another 30 mins. It was again a relaxed but specific interview, touching on soft and technical skills from my part-time sales job in university. Then they showed me around the sales floor, I met some of the team, and chatted with other associates, which was cool. The manager asked if I wanted to listen to some of his calls, and I even made a few calls. It was really engaging and gave me a good feel for the daily work! Big thanks to Ben, Alex & Neil, they really sold the company!

I went through a two-stage interview. The first was with VP Connor Wall and Associate Director Richard Pedreschi, and the final interview was with CEO Nick Vaughan. The first interview took almost two hours, and the second was about 30 minutes. I liked the interview process and felt like they were interested, especially since I met with three senior staff members. I didn't get the job after they checked my references. In the weeks after, I had to keep asking Hamlyn for an update, and they just said they hired someone with more experience. I really value feedback because I believe we're always learning. The CEO promised feedback, but even after asking, I still haven't gotten any. I even called the office, but no response. Considering the time I spent preparing and in the interview, you'd think a new company in Cardiff would want to make a good impression. Sadly, Hamlyn isn't that company. They did say in an email, 'Please do reach out to me personally in a few months time if still on the market,' but thanks, I'm not looking to be anyone's second choice.
