My Interview Experience at Halma plc – Internship with Full-Time Offer (2025) I recently had the opportunity to interview with Halma plc for a 6-month internship with a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) starting October 2025. The selection process was well-structured, testing both analytical and technical skills. Round 1 was an aptitude assessment with 20 questions across 4 sections: Numbers, Logical Reasoning, Coding & Decoding, Puzzles. We had 20 minutes to complete it. It required quick thinking, accuracy, and strong time management. Round 2 was a Technical Interview where the panel focused on my core strengths in Cybersecurity, DevOps, and Data Engineering. Key topics discussed were Cybersecurity & SOC concepts (Incident response, threat detection, SIEM basics), DevOps fundamentals (CI/CD pipelines, Docker basics, Git/GitHub workflows), Networking basics (IP addressing, public vs private IPs, firewalls), and Problem-solving (Logical and scenario-based troubleshooting). Round 3 was an HR & Behavioral Interview to evaluate my cultural fit and career aspirations. Questions included: Why Halma and what excites you about our work? How do you approach learning new technologies quickly? A challenging project or problem you solved. Availability and commitment for the 6-month internship with PPO. I was thrilled to receive the offer for a 6-month internship with a full-time position upon successful completion. The onboarding process was smooth, and I look forward to joining Halma in October 2025.

The interview process was structured and well-organized. It included multiple rounds that focused on both technical and analytical skills. The technical round covered core topics in basic electronics, embedded systems, and testing methodologies, with questions that were both theoretical and practical, testing real-world understanding. An aptitude/psychometric assessment included analytical reasoning and logical thinking questions to assess problem-solving abilities and cognitive approach. The HR/behavioral round focused on communication, cultural fit, and career goals, along with a psychometric evaluation. Overall, the process was fair and aligned with the role expectations. It helps to brush up on fundamental electronics, embedded C concepts, debugging techniques, and testing processes before appearing.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process started with an HR round, followed by a Technical Round led by the TL, which I felt went well. Then there was a General Round with a Talent Acquisition specialist, which was also good. The Technical Round involved discussing the types of testing I've done in my career, referencing my CV details, and exploring positive and negative test scenarios. The General Round involved a deep dive into my personal history, from birth to my current employment, and also included family details. I was about to get an offer, but there was a mismatch in joining timelines (I had a 30-day notice period, and the company required joining within 30 days, while my current company had a 60-day notice period). I explored options but didn't get a response from the HR team after that.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • Could you tell me about the different types of testing you have experience with?
  • What testing methodologies have you employed throughout your career?
  • Can you provide an overview of the testing experiences detailed in your resume?
