SEO Manager
The interview itself went well, and I had a good chat with the hiring manager. I was told I’d get feedback within a few days about whether I’d moved on to the next stage, but I never heard anything back. I get it if I wasn’t picked, that’s fine, but it would’ve been nice to know either way. Stuff like this is why I usually like applying directly to companies instead of going through recruiters.
- Can you discuss your prior SEO experience at previous companies?
- What are your current responsibilities in your role?
Data Scientist
The interview process started with an assessment, and then there was a final interview with the hiring manager. The technical assessment involved questions about machine learning concepts and Python coding. The final interview consisted of behavioral questions and a chat about my previous projects. It was a well-organized process, but you really needed to prepare well for it.
- Explain the bias-variance tradeoff.
Light Vehicle Mechanic
I applied online through their portal. I got a phone interview first, and then a face-to-face interview at their Horsham, Broadridge Heath location. The interview went well, and I have all the qualifications needed, including Level 3 NVQ. I explained my experience in all aspects of motor vehicles, from bodywork to full engine rebuilds, and my previous workshop experience. The manager mentioned they've had hires who couldn't actually do the job. I assured them I have skills across the whole motor vehicle trade. I'm self-employed and also break Audi and VWs on the side as a business. Strangely, I didn't get the job. They didn't seem keen on hiring capable people, seeming to look for less competent ones as the hiring manager implied ('they had people that have finished the NVQ but was in no state to work on cars yet'). I've been in the trade for over 8 years. The hiring manager initially didn't want to see my certificates, but I made him look. Perhaps I was overqualified for this role?
- Are you able to perform Cambelt replacements?
- What is your experience with brakes and suspension work?
- Can you handle repairs on exhaust systems?
Specialist
I had a face to face interview with the store manager. It was structured and competency based. I got to share a lot of examples from my past experience and talk about my skills. The manager also shared a lot of info about the role and the company during the interview.
- Tell me about a time you provided outstanding customer service.
- Give an example of working to meet your KPIs.
- What experience do you have working on cars and bikes?
