Great recruitment experience for the Generalist HR internship role, I had the chance to go through 2 stages in the process. The HR person was very kind, the exchange was mostly about getting to know you, sharing the group's values and culture, and your motivations, as well as what is expected of you. I really felt passion and kindness from the HR person. They even give feedback explaining why you weren't selected, always in a kind way. This allowed me to learn more about the group and perhaps for a future opportunity! The group is aligned with its values and what it promotes, it's not just for show!

I spoke with a recruiter at Clarins. They mentioned the next steps would be scheduled after the hiring manager finished store visits the following week. I liked the recruiter's vibe and how clear they were on the call, and I was really interested in the job. But then, I never heard anything back - not even a quick update or rejection. I even followed up one time and didn't get a response. It's a bummer when companies ghost you, especially after you took time to get ready and show up. This lack of communication didn't seem like the brand I thought it was.

I had a positive experience with HR and the interviewer at Clarins Singapore, even though I didn't get an offer. Elaine and her colleague were very prompt and helpful throughout the process and I really appreciated their professionalism. For this role, after the initial screening call, there was a case study from the CRM team. The in-person interview started with a technical SQL test, followed by an in-person discussion. My interviewer was pleasant, and we talked about how I approached different scenarios in past jobs and the potential challenges for this role. She was candid about what she was looking for and her management style, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience speaking with the team!

I saw the listing on a recruiter's LinkedIn and applied online, then I messaged them to let them know. Within a week, I had a virtual interview with a senior manager in the marketing/CRM department. It went well, but the manager mentioned that my availability and citizenship were the main reasons I wasn't chosen, even though they really liked me. Apparently, because I'm a US citizen, I can only work 29 hours a week, totaling 1000 hours for the internship. International students don't have these limits, so Clarins, being a French company, prefers hiring them. Most managers also want interns who can commit to a year-long internship.
