First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Great Place To Work.
QA Engineer
I had a call with the recruiter first, then talked to a software manager. They then sent me a test which was pretty much advanced front-end engineering for a QA position. It felt like they were actually looking for a front-end dev but labeled it QA. This didn't really align with the job description and made me wonder about their hiring process.
- Can you describe your experience?
- What are your thoughts on general testing?
Marketing Intern
The interview process was pretty straightforward and easy to understand. They asked me some questions about marketing and my past work. It was a good experience overall. After the interview, I was given an assignment that involved two different tasks: writing an email and creating a social media post.
- Can you share details about your past experiences?
Director of Data Science and Analytics
So I went through this interview process that took about two months. It involved five different interviews and a big project to complete. I put in a lot of time and effort, but in the end, they said they needed to 'reevaluate their budget' and decided they didn't need someone with my level of seniority for the job anymore. Honestly, it felt like they were really disorganized, lacked leadership, and didn't respect candidates' time at all. It was super frustrating and chaotic from the start, with no real transparency about anything. For a company that talks about valuing employee experience, they really didn't seem to extend that same respect to people interviewing with them. I wouldn't suggest wasting your time here unless you're really okay with a process that's all over the place and never consistent.
- What's your method for analyzing employee survey data?
Senior Finance and Accounts Consultant
I wanted to share my experience interviewing for the Senior Consultant - Finance, Accounts, and Compliance role at Great Place to Work® Institute (India). During the interview, I was asked about GST applicability on sponsorship expenses and payments to non-executive directors. I answered that GST is applicable to both. The interviewer doubted my CA knowledge and experience, which I found surprising given my correct answers based on Section 9(3) of CGST/SGST Act and CBIC CGST circular no.140/2020. It felt unfair that someone lacking GST knowledge would question my eligibility. This makes me wonder if the company truly lives up to its 'Great Place to Work' name. I advise other candidates not to accept such treatment.
- Regarding sponsorship expenses, what are the GST implications?
- Could you explain the GST implications for payments made to non-executive directors?
