First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Granite Construction.
Marketing Intern
It was a simple and quick interview. They asked a few questions. They preferred someone with more camera experience. It was very straightforward. You should definitely prepare beforehand. Overall it was a good experience, and the interviewer was friendly and not intimidating.
- Do you have prior experience working with cameras?
Finance Intern
I had a 45 minute panel interview with a recruiter, the hiring manager, and someone from HR. They took turns asking me questions that were a mix of common interview questions, some semi-technical, and some behavioral. It was a really friendly process.
- Could you describe your approach to time management?
- What do you consider to be your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
- How would you handle a situation where an urgent task arises unexpectedly?
Project Engineer
I applied online and then got a call from the Talent Acquisition team who then forwarded my resume to the hiring team. After that, I had a virtual interview with a Senior person on the team. It seemed to go well, and they mentioned they were urgently looking for a Project Engineer. I haven't heard back in weeks, and they aren't responding to my emails or phone calls.
- What prompted your departure from your last job?
Software Engineer
HR reached out to schedule a phone interview to discuss the role and my background. The conversation went well, and they said they'd pass my info to the hiring manager. I expected to hear back within 1-2 weeks, but after 3 weeks of silence, I emailed HR with no response. A couple of months later, they contacted me again about the same position, wanting to schedule an HR phone interview... again. I'm not sure about their hiring process, but it seems like they aren't really hiring or serious about moving forward. I wouldn't recommend them.
- Can you discuss your past experience and the roles you've occupied?
