First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gotham Consulting Partners.
Associate
it was a really long and repetitive interview process on casing that was totally unnecessary. They requested In-person case interviews but then had another round of case interview with the same 2 interviewers - which makes no sense if the interviewee is not in the same city? Didn't feel like they have good vibes in the office. You can find a lot of questions in glassdoor they asked - the same questions.
- Do you consider yourself a hard worker?
Vice President
The interview process was very friendly and approachable. It involved a straightforward case from an associate and then the managing director. There were also a few behavioral and motivational questions. Overall, it was fairly easy to ace and I enjoyed the culture of the firm.
- Tell me about yourself or your motivations for applying.
- Work through a classic consulting case study.
Business Analyst
I had a first interview on campus, it was a screening type. They asked some basic intro questions and then gave me a case study about a food truck's revenue. Then I had 3 more interviews at the company, all were case studies. Two interviewers were a bit distracting, on their phones. The last one let me ask questions about the company. The very end was weird, the last interviewer told me to wait in the lobby and he didn't know what was next. I waited, then asked reception. She checked and said they had what they needed. I asked about the next steps and timeline, but she had no clue, so I left without knowing anything.
- How would you estimate the yearly earnings of a food truck operating in NYC?
- What is the estimated market size for canned baby food within China?
- Given this office building, can you estimate the number of elevator banks required?
Junior Analyst
I applied through the campus career portal and had two rounds of phone interviews which were case studies, each about 45 minutes long. I was finally interviewed at the NYC, Gotham office. It's a small firm with about 10 employees. The final round didn't seem very organized; the interviewers weren't even sure how long my interview would last, despite HR confirming it beforehand. They presented 3 case studies in the last round. The employees were friendly, but the CEO, Deepak Agrawal, was rude and condescending from the start, even dozing off during the interview. They kept stressing the intense work hours, suggesting a poor work-life balance.
- Can you size the market for umbrella replacement on campus?
- What is Starbucks' revenue?
- What is the feasibility of a private helicopter service from Port Authority to JFK?
