Event Coordinator
The first interview is quick, just so you and the hiring managers can get to know each other. First impressions are super important though. The whole office dresses very sharp and professionally. The hiring managers want to hear about your people/customer service skills, your management/leadership experience or desires, your attitude/willingness to learn, and your desire for growth. If you have all of that, you can definitely pass the first round! The 2nd round is on site with a leader (they want you to see the events as well as the type of role you would play as a leader). Tip: be ready to take notes - they will ask you questions about it in the 3rd round. The 3rd round is just going over what you learned and your impressions of the events, answering any last questions you may have, and asking any last questions that they have for you!
- Are you able to work early evenings and some weekends?
- What qualities do you possess that would make you a good fit for this role?
- Can you describe your past roles and the responsibilities you held?
PR Assistant
I went into the office for my first interview and was immediately moved onto the second round the same day. The first interview felt a little rushed if I was being honest, but I was glad to move onto the second interview. I was given an address to drive to my second interview that same day and it took me to a Sam's Club where I got to shadow my interviewer and see what I would be doing. Basically, you're at a Sam's Club trying to push a product to customers. They have you take notes about what you observe and then they take them as a part of the interview process. I don't really have any complaints other than they never called me back that night even though they told me I would be getting a call if I moved on to the last round regardless if it was a yes or a no. The vibe of the company seemed pretty positive, but the job does entail a lot of time and traveling around Dallas before getting to that executive position so I would have probably not have accepted it anyways.
- Can you explain the distinction between direct and indirect marketing?
Business Administration Assistant
Got a call for an interview almost immediately, but be aware, the description of the position you applied for is not what you're going to get most likely. 1st interview you meet at their office for less than 15 minutes, they see if they like you. If they do, you move on to the 2nd interview. 2nd interview you drive 30-60 minutes to a Costco/Sams and talk to another person for an hour. This is where they pretty much tell you its a SALES position making little to nothing an hour and its commission based. You'll be spending Mon-Sun, whichever days scheduled, selling products at a big box store and they'll base your pay off the sales of those products...not taking into consideration how terrible some of these items can be. The 2nd interview was long and drawn out, very boring and I knew almost immediately during the 1st interview that I did not want to work here but I thought I'd just give it a try. If you have a weird gut feeling about this job after the first interview don't bother going to the second, your gut is right. Wish I listened to mine and saved myself 2 hours. I was told I'd get a call from HR later that day, it was just the first interviewer calling me back. I stepped away from my phone, they called & left a voicemail, i called back about 10 minutes later and told them I'm available and to give me a call back anytime, and I've yet to hear from them again. If I was given an offer I'd decline.
- Can you provide two words to describe yourself and explain how they relate to this role?
Business Administration Assistant
I got a phone call from HR where they asked me some questions and then scheduled me for an interview with Kaitlyn. I then moved on to the second round, which was an in-person interview in Dallas. My advice to anyone thinking about joining this company is to not join unless you want to be a salesperson. It doesn't matter what type of entry-level position you apply for; it's a bait and switch situation. You will be defaulted to the 'event coordinator' position, which is just a fancy title for a salesperson. So, unless you're interested in SALES, then go ahead and apply.
