Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Golden Events Group.
Event Specialist
The interview process is pretty standard, it has 3 cycles: first a phone call, then you go in-office, then they send you to a site visit, and then back in-office again. It's very persuasive, and if you're trying to persuade someone to do something, I don't recommend it.
- Tell me about your job experience.
Event Manager
After my resume was received, I got a call within 48 hours. We then set up an interview for the next day. I arrived 15 minutes early, and the interview started right away, lasting less than 10 minutes. I felt a bit rushed, but figured that's just how they work. The day after that, after an online background check, I met someone at an event site. We split our time between the back for interview questions and the front for observation.
- What marketing techniques did you observe me using?
- Why do you believe you are the top candidate?
Event Coordinator
The first interview is quick, just so you and the hiring managers can get to know each other. First impressions are super important though. The whole office dresses very sharp and professionally. The hiring managers want to hear about your people/customer service skills, your management/leadership experience or desires, your attitude/willingness to learn, and your desire for growth. If you have all of that, you can definitely pass the first round! The 2nd round is on site with a leader (they want you to see the events as well as the type of role you would play as a leader). Tip: be ready to take notes - they will ask you questions about it in the 3rd round. The 3rd round is just going over what you learned and your impressions of the events, answering any last questions you may have, and asking any last questions that they have for you!
- Are you able to work early evenings and some weekends?
- What qualities do you possess that would make you a good fit for this role?
- Can you describe your past roles and the responsibilities you held?
