First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Global Citizen.
Senior Director
The interview process was simple: a phone screen then one-on-one chats with HR, the hiring manager, and some of the senior leaders. I was really into the job, and the first interviews went well - everyone seemed professional and smart. But, one chat with leadership was a bit off. The person seemed uninterested and dismissive, asking questions that felt random and like they were checking if I was desperate for work. It left a bad taste and made me think about what I've read in other reviews about the company's leadership.

Senior Program Associate
The interview process was super weird and all over the place. I went through five interview rounds, which is a lot for an entry-level role. It involved talking to three HR people and even recording myself on video and sending it via WhatsApp. The final interviewer bailed on me twice last minute. When I finally had the last interview, the company totally ghosted me even though I followed up. The whole thing took about two months, which was really disappointing and unprofessional.
- How would you approach conflict resolution?
Director
The hiring process was really smooth and quick. They got back to me fast. There were about 3 to 4 interviews, and they were good about sharing feedback and details. I talked to everyone from the hiring manager to one of the co-founders. Everything was super transparent, no problems at all.
- What's your perspective on the importance of digital and social media?
Senior Manager
A HR person contacted me 3 days after I applied, and we set up a phone screen and two more interviews via Hangouts. The conversations were good; the GC team did a nice job of promoting their organization and their 2020 plans. They told me the next and final step was to meet the Country Chair (or vice). After that, things went downhill. I heard the Country Chair wanted to 'widen the pool' and hired a consultant. It's GC's choice, naturally. But that also implies a large influence for a Chair, a non-executive position. Or so I thought. Regardless, it was no longer a job for me, and I didn't apply when the consultant, PwC, reopened the search. I was surprised to get an email from PwC asking me to interview in another city...in 48 hours. For me, the choice was to ignore or decline. The approach wasn't great, maybe more suited for mass-recruiting entry-level staff. In my country, PwC's reputation in these matters seems accurate. They seem to need to modernize their recruitment processes. GC is working to draw attention to poverty - an important goal. They have my best wishes!
