The interview process was pretty standard. It began with a recruiter screen, then a hiring manager interview where we discussed my past experiences and some behavioral questions. After that, I did a take-home assignment for the role. I put a lot of time into it, but it was cool that Givelify compensates candidates if they use their solution. Then I met with the leadership panel and the executive leadership team. Finally, I got an offer. The whole thing took about a month. My recruiter was super supportive and even took weekend calls to answer my questions. The experience felt open, personal, and organized.

So basically, I had a chat with HR, then there were two 90 minute interviews and then a presentation. I got to the final stage and they told me I'd hear back by a certain date. I emailed the recruiter twice and got ghosted for two weeks past that date. I finally heard from the hiring manager that I didn't get the job. I asked for feedback and got ghosted again. During the panel interview, I asked the CEO some questions and he seemed to have no clue how to answer, he even tried to turn the question back on me. He didn't really have answers about the company's future vision or what makes them stand out from competitors. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I wouldn't recommend applying. Total waste of time. Also, no benefits if you're in Canada.

I spoke with HR, and it seemed to go well. They mentioned that they only offer benefits to U.S. employees, so no insurance for me in Toronto. After that, I did a test they sent over. I haven't gotten the results yet, but she said she would share them. I asked for feedback since it seemed like I did well, and maybe the test results are why I haven't heard back. She also said the next interview would be super long, which I thought was a bit much considering my current workload and other commitments. It’d be nice if they were more mindful of applicants' time if interviews are going to be over an hour long.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I interviewed with Givelify over 3 weeks and got a verbal offer, but then they ghosted me without telling me why. The process included interviews with the recruiter, hiring manager, and CEO. I also did a big take-home project, and they said they'd donate $200 for it, but I never got proof. This whole thing took about 3 weeks. I kept getting good feedback. After talking to the CEO for 90 minutes and getting praised for my take-home work, the recruiter called me on a Friday and said they'd give me an offer the next Wednesday after finalizing details. But by the next Thursday, I heard nothing. Then I asked the recruiter for an update, and she said they were changing the role, so I wasn't a candidate anymore, without explaining anything. I asked why I wasn't told sooner and what changed since they offered me the job. I didn't get a real answer, just a promise of a call that never came. They then re-posted the same job description. It's messed up to give someone a verbal offer and then lie about changing the role. For a company that says it's mission-driven, they didn't treat me with respect.
