Director
So I had this online interview over Teams. First, I spoke with the National VP. Two weeks later, I was told I was one of three finalists. Then, silence for six weeks. I had to follow up myself, and they told me they'd gone with another candidate. Super unprofessional, I wouldn't suggest interviewing with them. It gave off a bad vibe about the company and was a poor experience for me as a candidate.
- Can you describe your background?
- What is your experience in this area?
Security Guard
It was a pretty straightforward interview process. They asked about how I handle stressful situations, deescalation, and just general security common sense. They also asked about my availability and my thoughts on growing with the company. I thought it was a pretty standard interview; security interviews aren't usually too in-depth, depending on the specific site.
- How would you handle a situation where a patient is screaming and yelling causing a scene with other people around?
- How do you handle stressful situations?
- What are your thoughts on deescalation?
Security Operations Manager
I applied online and got a text to set up a phone interview. The interviewer called on time and asked general competency questions. They said I'd get an update after the first round, but then I was ghosted. I kept applying elsewhere until I saw the same job reposted with GardaWorld. Since ghosting is common now, I applied again. Surprisingly, I got another text to set up a phone interview. I almost declined but thought it'd be funny to see if they remembered me; they didn't. When I asked, it took them 5 minutes to find my old application. Then the interviewer blamed the previous interviewer, saying 'he's not in the Region anymore.' We continued with the same questions as the first interview. Again, I was told I'd hear back after the first round. The next day, I got a generic rejection saying they were going with someone 'more qualified.' This bothered me because I was overqualified but needed a job and applied for something way below my level. My suggestion to GardaWorld: update your system to reject people for the actual reason.
- Tell me about where you went to school and what your management style is like.
Screening Officer
i applied and after a few days, i received information about an online assessment which i had to complete under supervision. to proceed to the next stage, all three parts of the assessment had to be passed. a few days later, i got an invite for an in-person interview at their headquarters near the airport. during the interview, we were in pairs and had to answer a variety of questions. following this, we were given background check forms and a medical form to take home, which if successful, would lead to the next step. i'm wondering if everyone has to fill out the background check forms, or if this means i'm likely moving forward. still waiting to hear back.
- What makes you want to work for this company?
- Could you describe some qualities that make you a good fit for the screening officer role?
- What feedback do you anticipate receiving from your references about you?
