I went through an interview for an internship at Furukawa Electric LatAm, which had two parts: one with HR and another with the sector management. Both interviews were relaxed and friendly. In the first part, with HR, I learned more about the company and the role. We talked about important things like salary and benefits to make sure everything matched my expectations. It was a chill and informative chat that helped me get a better feel for the company environment. The second interview was with the sector managers, where we went deeper into the job details. The managers asked me a lot of questions about my profile to see if I was a good fit for what they were looking for. This conversation was also cool and let me showcase my skills and experience more. After I got the news that I passed, I went through the hiring process, which included an oral English test via video call with an English teacher. During this chat, she checked my fluency, and this was definitely the hardest part for me. Overall, all the interview stages were easygoing and really interesting, giving me a good idea of what it would be like to work at Furukawa Electric.

The recruiter who was responsible for the selection and conducting of the interviews undervalued undergraduate degrees of 2 years, classified as technologist degrees. Initially, the interview was conducted normally, covering several personal questions like hobbies, leisure, and activities done in free time. Professional questions were also asked, such as previous experiences, activities performed, challenges, fears, improvement projects, etc. Additionally, points for improvement and highlighted strengths were discussed. The recruiter revealed more details about the opportunity, like activities to be performed, challenges faced, requested deliverables, and improvement plans to be implemented. Unfortunately, when the educational background was mentioned, the recruiter showed disdain and disregard for the technologist degree, implying it was a less important degree or that it wouldn't qualify for postgraduate studies or specialization in the area, which is false, as technologist degrees are equivalent to traditional bachelor's degrees upon graduation.

It was a very straight conversation. They asked me several questions about my former job and my expectations for the future job. They tried to align my expectations with what the company could offer. They also presented all the benefits and the next steps. I had the opportunity to clarify my doubts about the job and the company.
