This place seems to have a 'hire people like us' vibe. If you're not a white male who's really good at bro-ing out, you're probably not getting an offer. Their culture still feels like something out of Wolf of Wall Street with arm wrestling for fun. The lack of diversity is super apparent when you walk in. They asked me hardly any questions about my past behavior, but a lot of hypothetical ones like 'what would you do if...'. I feel like those kinds of questions just set you up to fail because you'll answer based on what you know now, not what the new company needs. There seem to be gaps in how their management team works together. They talk about being totally transparent, but it really felt more like a top-down setup than they seem to realize. I bet they'll read this and say 'this candidate is wrong because of X, Y, and Z,' which is exactly what a company lacking outside perspective and diversity would do.

The interview process included an initial phone screen, followed by a first-round interview with three employees. Then, a second round took place with three more team members. The final step was an hour-long session shadowing a current sales associate, concluding with a meeting with the VP of Sales and the CEO. I submitted my references on Friday, expecting a decision by Tuesday. However, I didn't hear back until a week after Tuesday. My follow-up emails and calls during that week went unanswered. By the time I received a generic response, I assumed they had gone with other candidates. This lack of communication and unprofessional handling of the final stage really soured the experience for me.

I applied through my college's career site and got an invite for a recruiter call. The recruiter seemed really eager to get me in person, and while friendly, they didn't ask super detailed questions, perhaps a bit inexperienced. The onsite involved interviews with four different managers. The office itself is really cool with a great startup vibe, and most people seemed friendly and happy. Three of the managers were nice and seemed interested in my background, but one was rude and rushed my interview. It felt like they weren't sure what they were looking for in sales, maybe even using the AE title to recruit more while not really wanting to hire someone entry-level like me. A few days later, the recruiter let me know they were going in a different direction. I asked for feedback to help with my post-grad job search, but they ghosted me, which left a bad impression.

Behavioral Technical Case

The hiring process was efficient, with clear communication about what to expect next. I applied through AngelList, and a recruiter contacted me within about a week. We scheduled a phone screen for a few days later. Following that, I had another phone screen with the department leader. Finally, I came in for a half-day onsite where I met with eight individuals from different teams. They were very open about the company's operations and asked questions that were pertinent and challenging.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • The questions covered typical product management areas like process, design thinking, and examples of your previous work.
  • While there was no take-home assignment, they asked many detailed questions about how you develop strategy and your execution process.
