Zoom meetings that were very structured. Each person I talked to was upfront about their role and what they were looking for in someone for this job. They were direct and clear with their questions, showing they had planned well. The interviewers were also friendly, confident, humble, and seemed genuinely interested in hiring because they need help. I liked them right away. The team seemed to have good morale. The recruiter gave me a heads-up about the cultural questions, which was helpful as it gave me time to think about answers for things I hadn't considered before, especially in an interview. The culture questions themselves give the company a strange vibe, and while they seem well-intentioned, they are a bit intrusive, and I wouldn't fault anyone for being put off by them.

Had an initial recruiter chat, then a chat with a team member, then the hiring manager, then a full day of interviews with a panel. Pretty long process, and at one point they forgot to reach out to me for a follow-up interview. I was initially interested in a different role that was open but the internal company recruiter ignored my request. I enjoyed talking to everyone during my interviews and liked that they were being super selective about the people they are hiring. The offer they gave me was lower than my current salary and a lower title and they were not open to negotiating whatsoever. Truly disappointing after clearing all the interviews over a period of a month.

The interview process started with a phone interview, followed by a chat with the hiring manager focusing on python and sql skills. Then there was a python technical test. The main event was an 8-hour on-site interview, which included preparing and delivering a 1-hour presentation. This whole thing was for an entry-level role, which felt a bit much given it only pays standard Silicon Valley wages, not even senior level pay. The on-site involved meeting different team members, most of whom were friendly. It was mostly behavioral questions. However, after all that, there was a 1-hour culture interview at the end which felt super unnecessary because all the senior people had already asked tons of behavioral questions. Thankfully, that interviewer was really nice. One of the executives was kind of demeaning, with a superiority complex, and said some unprofessional stuff, which was really surprising considering how friendly everyone else was. Aside from that one person, the interview process was well-organized and the communication was good.

This company's interview process was a mess. It started with a recruiter who was unresponsive for two weeks, even failing to schedule panelists for an interview I ended up waiting for alone on Zoom. Then there were three one-hour interviews with the manager and HR, followed by an 8-hour panel interview with the team. HR admitted the 8-hour interview was excessive. They also conducted a 'like-culture' interview, which felt like intense pressure to answer questions to fit their demanding work environment. The team seemed stressed and overloaded, though they liked the work. This role has been open for 6 months, which makes sense given the red flags.
