The interview started with a screening to go over my resume and clarify anything with the recruiter. Then, there was a virtual interview. I thought I'd be pitching myself, but it was pretty casual. HR talked about the company's location, the job description, and what the role entails, and I got to ask some questions. It seemed to go well, and I was looking forward to the next steps. However, I didn't hear back. After two weeks of no follow-up, I reached out to HR and got a casual reply saying they'd moved on with other candidates. I also emailed the recruiter twice for feedback, but never got a response.

I interviewed for multiple roles. Communication style is chaos, and I've been ghosted after a leadership interview. The process involved a recruiter phone interview, followed by an unknown number of panel and one-on-one interviews with leaders. Some HR recruiter interviews were long (an hour), and one was very abrupt, ending mid-sentence. I even received an interview request referencing a 'previous conversation' from someone I'd never spoken to. Hiring team interviews have been extended beyond initial promises, sometimes after weeks of silence. One group required a very difficult schedule for on and off-campus interviews. In another case, neither HR nor the hiring team explained the unit's function or the role's alignment, leading to confusion until the 4th interview when I realized the role was very different from the description. For a leadership interview, I was asked about 30 multipart questions, only for the leader to ask the exact same ones. There's been no follow-up for weeks, not even a rejection. It's puzzling given the emphasis on communication skills during the process.

The interview process was really long, spanning almost three months and involving five interviews plus a DEI statement letter. It started with virtual chats with the recruiter and hiring manager, then moved to in-person meetings with two team members and two people I'd collaborate with. The final interviews were virtual with two VPs. Communication was terrible throughout; the recruiter and hiring manager were often slow to respond, sometimes taking weeks to provide updates. They also ignored my follow-up emails or gave me incorrect information about when to expect feedback. Ultimately, I received a generic rejection email from the recruiter, which made me feel like my time wasn't valued and I was disrespected.

I applied online and a few weeks after, I got an email from the HR hiring team. They asked me to suggest some dates that I was available for an initial phone screening. I was then sent a calendar invite for a scheduled time. The interview itself was pretty short and the HR person was very friendly. Sadly, I didn't make it to a second interview and had to send a follow-up question to ask about the status. I did receive the standard response that I wasn't selected, but I was still glad to get a reply.
