Project Sales Coordinator
I had a phone call first to see if I was interested in the job and then we set up an in-person meeting. I met with the CEO and he shared some ideas and projects he thought I could help with. This made me feel comfortable and showed me he understood my skills from my resume. He saw my past experience and knew my strengths, so we had a more meaningful interview. Many questions were about what I could do for the company to see if I'd be happy there and if they'd be happy with me. At the end, I got an offer and we set a time later that week for onboarding.
- Can you tell me about your current situation and what you aim to achieve?
- What kind of contributions do you envision making?
- Do you see yourself being happy in this role?
Sales Representative
The interview felt a lot like 'Vector Marketing' but for spas, and the role was presented differently than I expected. It might be okay for a part-time gig or for students, but it wasn't for me. I had an in-person interview and then a shadow day. Everyone was nice, but I didn't see how approaching students and retail workers to buy spa vouchers would lead to customer retention. It was uncomfortable watching the rep try to get money from people who clearly couldn't afford the services. They talked a lot about retention and building business for beauty experts, but when we went out, the rep approached people who looked like college students or retail employees making under $15 an hour. It didn't make sense to me; it seemed like a way to get people on a marketing cold calling list from one transaction. I didn't see it as quality lead generation. Asking for credit card info on the spot also seemed sketchy and made people reluctant and uncomfortable. If you're okay with these aspects, it might be a good fit. If you dislike the 'Vector Marketing' style, maybe look elsewhere.

Sales and Marketing Representative
The interview process was extensive and exactly what I needed to really understand the job. It consisted of two in person interviews and one phone interview. The first in person interview consisted a lot about educating me on the company and helping me understand the big picture of it. The second in person interview was a day of observation where I went out with a current employee and got to see what a typical day looked like for a sales rep. I was able to ask questions and get more of an understanding of what I would naturally be good at and what areas would be challenging for me if I got the job/accepted it. The third interview was over the phone and they did an amazing job in asking me all the right questions to help them determine if I was the right candidate and also to help me decide if I was ready to push myself out of my comfort zone. Everyone was very respectful and I felt right away that they had the best intentions at heart. They wanted me to accept the job only if I felt very sure of it (and myself).
- Are you prepared to continuously push yourself out of your comfort zone?
- What are your current goals?
- Can you provide references?

I was pleasantly surprised by the entire interview process. I got a call a few hours after applying in which I was introduced to the company and told a little bit about myself. I was then invited in for an interview which was also a great experience. I walked in and was intrigued by the office environment and the employees were very inviting. The interview was not intimidating, it felt casual in that I felt like I could introduce myself in a positive way. I was invited for a second interview where I shadowed a sales agent where I was able to fully understand what Formosi does. After the experiencing day of observation, I went back to the office to further discuss the position; I was told I would hear back from them soon and received a call later that day that I was invited to join the internship. Formosi has an engaging interview process that allows you to learn about the company, its employees, and how you can contribute.
