The interview felt a lot like 'Vector Marketing' but for spas, and the role was presented differently than I expected. It might be okay for a part-time gig or for students, but it wasn't for me. I had an in-person interview and then a shadow day. Everyone was nice, but I didn't see how approaching students and retail workers to buy spa vouchers would lead to customer retention. It was uncomfortable watching the rep try to get money from people who clearly couldn't afford the services. They talked a lot about retention and building business for beauty experts, but when we went out, the rep approached people who looked like college students or retail employees making under $15 an hour. It didn't make sense to me; it seemed like a way to get people on a marketing cold calling list from one transaction. I didn't see it as quality lead generation. Asking for credit card info on the spot also seemed sketchy and made people reluctant and uncomfortable. If you're okay with these aspects, it might be a good fit. If you dislike the 'Vector Marketing' style, maybe look elsewhere.

I was reached out to by Formosi through Indeed after they saw my resume. I thought it was a good idea to have a phone chat to schedule my interview. Formosi has a really fast interview process. After a quick phone screening, I went to their Torrance office to meet the Creative Director, Rikki, face-to-face. It was great talking to her, and she really showed the positive vibe of the Formosi team. She then invited me back the next day to shadow a sales rep and see what the job is actually like! Shadowing was really helpful and fun. By the time of my final interview, I knew exactly what the job involved. I met with Stephen at the office, who was enthusiastic about his company and answered all my questions, including employment details. The next morning, I got a call offering me the job, and I started soon after!

The interview process consists of three stages. Initially, I had an in-person meeting at the Torrance, CA headquarters with a team member. Then, I was invited back to the office for a second interview where I met the Formosi team and gained a lot of insight into the role. I had the opportunity to shadow a sales representative, which provided a clear view of the day-to-day responsibilities and their customer interaction methods. Following this, I had a discussion with the CEO. This interview style is commendable, offering a genuine 'day in the life' experience for the applicant. I've been with the company for four months now and wanted to share my positive experience.
