First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Formosi.
Project Manager
It was a three step process. First a phone interview, then an in person interview, and finally a shadowing day. They didn't really clarify the job details or what they expected until the last day. The shadowing day was pretty good though, it gave me a look at what a normal day is like.
- What are your thoughts on sales?
Project Assistant
My interview experience was fantastic and unique, the interview process is a few steps. After I submitted my cover letter and resume to Formosi I received a phone call and I was asked a few personal questions about my life and work experience. After the phone interview an in person interview was scheduled where I went into the corporate office and met I with the CEO. Next step of the interview was to come in for a day of observation. This is what I found so unique about the interview because it allowed for a firsthand experience showing what the job really entails and it allows for you to decide if the job is a right match for you. I thought Formosi as a company did an excellent job with their interview process allowing you to experience the job as well as providing important job details.
- What aspects of our company stood out to you after your research?
Project Manager
I was contacted by a sales rep from Formosi and bought a voucher. I previously owned a beauty salon in Sweden and was interested in the marketing aspect. When I saw they were hiring an assistant project manager, I applied. The process began with a phone screening with the Operations Coordinator. She elaborated on the role and company, and I discussed my background and education. Then, I had my first in-person interview at their office. They inquired about my former beauty salon, including my marketing strategies and my reasons for transitioning from beauty treatments to focusing on "behind the scenes work." I also highlighted how my beauty industry background and UCLA Extension project management certificate aligned with the role's requirements. They asked about my career aspirations for this position and what I hoped to gain from it. The second interview involved a day of shadowing a sales representative. Given my prior purchase of a voucher, I was familiar with their offerings, but this provided insight into the sales side of the job. The third interview occurred on the same day, immediately following the second. In the interim, I prepared a sales pitch to present to the owner and operations coordinator. We discussed the compensation structure and potential start dates. Although the initial interactions were welcoming and informative, the final interview emphasized the need to demonstrate my enthusiasm and capability for the role. The entire process moved swiftly, with all three interviews completed within a week. I received a job offer the following day.
