First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Flywire.
Account Executive
Had a first call with a recruiter. Got an invite to pick a meeting time via an app. After that, the interview process was explained well and there was a brief on what the job is and what they are looking for. The interview was more casual and fluid. I appreciate her prompt follow-up even though I got rejected.
- Can you share an example of an initiative you've led within your team?
Strategic Account Executive
The interview process began with a meeting with the hiring manager. Following that, I was informed that a case study would be sent as the subsequent step. A couple of days later, a recruiter reached out to check on the interview status and outcome. I clarified that I was waiting for the case study details, as the hiring manager had previously mentioned. Soon after, I received a standard rejection email without any specific reasons provided. I found this sequence of events quite unprofessional, especially given that I adjusted my schedule for a 10 PM UK time interview to accommodate the hiring manager's time zone in the U.S.
- What is your experience with Card Not Present Payments?
Marketing Manager
I interviewed August-September 2025. My initial phone interview was missed entirely; and when rescheduled, the recruiter called 23 minutes late. The following day, I received an accidental call. I was told in the process I’d hear back by end of week, and later again by end of day, but the actual rejection came much later in both occasions. The reasoning given (“looking for more demand gen experience”) directly contradicted the evidence I provided in our conversations, suggesting the recruiter hadn’t listened or taken notes. The role itself may be compelling, but Flywire’s hiring team showed a lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for this candidate's time. If this is how they treat prospective senior hires, I can only imagine what the internal experience looks like.
- Could you describe a demand generation campaign that you've managed from start to finish?
Engineering Manager
I wanted to share my experience interviewing with Flywire. The process up to the assignment was nice and professional, showing they want to build a good culture. But the home assignment was way harder than I expected. It felt like a consultation project, and it took a lot of time and effort, more than usual for this stage. I get they need to check candidates well, but it felt like they were getting free consulting work instead of just testing skills. If you're applying, ask about the scope of assignments upfront. Make sure the time it takes fits with what else you have going on, especially if you're applying for other jobs. I think a more balanced way to assess candidates would be better and show respect for their time and skills. Hope this helps make the hiring process better for others.
- What are your thoughts on general management?

“Given the logs of a Docker image orchestrator, explain what you understand and what you don't. It's expected you don't understand much, as it's not the focus, but you should be able to identify some things.”
