Two things went well: the recruiter contacted me quickly after applying, and I got a swift decision after the interview. However, scheduling the screening interview was messy. I gave my availability, blocked my calendar, and heard nothing for 10 days. My follow-up email was ignored, and when the recruiter finally replied, it was with the same old generic invite. We talked on the phone, and the interview was pretty standard. She mentioned they recently surveyed employee morale and claimed there were no issues in the past year, which makes me wonder if they're asking the right questions. When salary came up, my suggested range was deemed 'too high,' even though it matched the job posting and Seattle averages. She then offered a figure in the lower third of the range. I later found out online that I was missing key technical skills not listed in the job description. The job posting was misleading, and the disorganized scheduling wasted everyone's time. If these issues aren't fixed, they'll hinder my ability to hire effectively as a manager.

The interview process at FLEXE was a great experience. It was really organized and moved quickly, with good communication throughout. The interviewers were nice and seemed really interested in what I knew and had done. The questions were about actual design challenges, which made the talk interesting and informative. I also liked how upfront they were about the job and what they were looking for. All in all, it was a smooth process, and I felt respected and valued.

Applied online and after some days got an email from technical recruiter to schedule a 1 hour phone interview. Round 1 with the recruiter involved questions about my experience and behavioral questions, like long-term and short-term goals. I was also asked some technical questions about regular expressions. After the interview, I received a link to complete an online coding test on Codility, which took an hour. The program was easy and doable for anyone with a CS background. I was then informed I had qualified for the next round, which was a 1-hour Skype interview with a team member. During the Skype interview, I discussed my experience and was given a problem to solve, requiring me to walk through my process and thinking. I was able to solve the problem and then asked some questions I had. Two days later, I was informed I was selected. The recruiter was responsive and made the interview process smooth. Overall, it was a good experience, and the result was surprising but I learned a lot.

I applied online and then a recruiter reached out, which was followed by a standard screening phone call. The first interview was with the Assistant General Counsel (AGC) whom I would have reported to. A few days later, I got an email saying Flexe wanted to move forward, and I scheduled a second interview with the General Counsel (GC) and another AGC. A final interview happened a few days after that with two other attorneys on the team and two business members I would collaborate with. In total, I had 7 Zoom interviews after the initial recruiter call. Some might find this process tiring, but I thought it was great. The company was really thorough in hiring the right person, not just filling a spot. The interviewers focused on who I am, not just my knowledge, which makes sense as experienced candidates often have similar knowledge. What's more important is passion for the job, how you interact with others, and teamwork. For me, I accepted Flexe's offer because I felt good chemistry with the team. My advice: pick the place that feels right. If you don't like Flexe's process, that's okay, you'll find somewhere else. But if you feel like I do, you've found a great place to work.
