The process was really disorganized. After an initial screening, I was moved on to meet with the hiring manager. They seemed to think I was a good fit and wanted to move forward with three more interviews: one with peers, one with leadership, and one with senior leadership. The hiring manager wasn't clear about what the next steps were, and I had to follow up a bunch of times just to get those interviews scheduled. After those three interviews, including one with the VP of the org who said I'd be a good fit, I got ghosted. I even reached out to the hiring manager again and heard nothing back.

Started with an initial phone screen, then had a Zoom interview the following week with the hiring manager and 3 others for about :30 each. After that, I built and delivered a :30 presentation to 3 sales reps and 2 in marketing. A week later, I had a Zoom interview with the hiring manager's boss. Then... about a month later, a hiring freeze came up and the role was put on hold.

The interview process felt like a formality, as if they were just going through the motions to reject my application instead of genuinely assessing my skills. It seemed like the hiring manager had already decided not to proceed before the interview even began. The questions were vague, not specifying which part of the infrastructure they pertained to, and the scenarios presented were either too abstract or involved hypothetical mistakes by others in unrelated areas. They didn't even schedule interviews with other team members, despite having mentioned they would. Additionally, there was an issue with the Zoom login; the recruiters forgot to send the password, causing a delay. While I have prior experience with Five9 and know it's a good company with great people, I'd suggest a more thorough and considerate approach to selecting management personnel.

I was satisfied with the entire interview process from start to finish. After submitting my resume for consideration I received a prompt response from their Talent Acquisition Team to schedule an interview with the hiring manager. I had previously met with Talent Acquisition relating to another opening , so they already had my screening information on file. The interview with the hiring manager went well. She did an excellent job describing both the role and challenges associated with it. At the completion of that meeting I had a solid understanding what the role was and what it wasn't, plus most importantly how to be successful in the role. Next step was a follow up call with Talent Acquisition to confirm the specifics of my initial screening interview. Other candidates were being considered, so over the course of the next few weeks Talent Acquisition continued to keep me updated. I received a phone call from Talent Acquisition indicating the offer was accepted by another candidate. They thanked me for my time and encouraged me to continue checking the career page for future opportunities. Communication was a healthy mix of emails and phone calls. I very much got the feeling they care about the relationship they have with their applicants. Keep up the good work!!
